Fostoria

Logs floating in water are infinitely more manageable, making a mill pond a necessity to any successful mill.

Shown are Fostoria workers unloading one of the many loads required daily to keep up production of the largest producer of yellow pine in the entire southwest. During the peak years the mill produced 20 Million board feet of pine lumber and over one Million board feet of hardwood annually. Workers guided the logs to a conveyor which fed into the building where they were cut into lumber.
